SIBR SH series, already running smoothly in many facilities are of high quality and robust safety brake heavy industry in Turkey. By braking directly on the rope drum with high braking moments, they form the last safety element of the drive system. Eldro drum and disc brake systems placed between the engine and reducer in the systems perform the braking and speed control duties under normal operating conditions. However, the only way to stop the load in gear reducer stripping, shaft cutting or other emergencies is to brake the rope drum directly. SHI safety brakes holding the coupled flange on the rope drum go into operation in this case. Thanks to the special design of SHI brakes suitable for different flange diameters and thicknesses, the shear force does not affect the hydraulic piston during braking. The SHI brakes, which are made of few and durable parts, are long-lasting and their maintenance costs are low due to the fact that they contain a single seal in the hydraulic chamber. SHI brakes can be integrated into the factory automation system with “brake open”, “brake closed”, “lining wear” signal switches. Sensors and control systems that will close the brake when the rope drum is over-accelerated or activated at an unexpected moment can also be delivered with the brake.
